Dorzolamide HCL/Timolol Maleate Ophthalmic Solution Dorzolamide helps decrease eye pressure in the eye and is also used for treatment of glaucoma. It may also be used in an unaffected eye to prevent glaucoma when glaucoma is already present in the other eye. - CAUTIONS/WARNINGS:Side effects: Side effects may include stinging when applied, watering of the eye and sensitivity to light. If these effects continue and become troublesome, contact your veterinarian. Usage: Dorzolamide should be instilled as directed by your veterinarian. Do not touch the dropper or tube opening to any surface, including your eyes or hands. The dropper or tube opening is sterile. If it becomes contaminated, it could cause an infection in your eye. Caution: This medication does not have an FDA approved indication for use in animals, but it is a common and acceptable practice for veterinarians to prescribe this human medication for use in animals. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your animal. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur.
