Doxycycline hyclate is a broad-spectrum antibiotic synthetically derived from oxytetracycline It is used to treat kennel cough, in conjunction with heartworm treatment, for blood borne pathogens such as Lyme, E. canis, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and for respiratory pathogens. This product requires a prescription. Caution in Cats: You must also give a teaspoon of water after administering the pill or the medication may cause damage to the esophagus. Do not Give during the first half of pregnancy. It can slow the growth, alter the skelton, and yellow the teeth of unborn animals.
